Wood Shop Safety & Basic Use

For Circuit Launch members who want to utilize the tools of the Wood Shop for projects, this class is an overall orientation in what machines and power tools are available and how to use them properly & safely.
In order to use any machines in the Wood Shop, a member must be certified in their proper use. Non-Members are welcome but membership is required to use the tools unsupervised.
The Wood Shop has an extensive collection of hand tools, power tools and machinery including a large band saw, drum sander, drill press, mortiser, benchtop router, chop saw, lathe, extended table saw, scroll saw, panel saw and much more.
The equipment is capable of fine woodworking and cabinetry, and prototyping in wood and plastic.
What to Bring:
Wear old clothing (no long sleeves) and closed toe shoes
Shop safety glasses, ear muffs and dust mask are provided but if you prefer, you can bring your own.

Our Wood Shop is located on the ground floor of Circuit Launch in the Fab Lab. When you come through the front entrance, go straight ahead down the hallway, turn right and the Fab Lab is the last door straight ahead of you.
